There is a municipal healthcare organization present in every region of the Netherlands. In Nijmegen it is the GGD Gelderland-South. The GGD wants a healthy community for all citizens of the empire of Nijmegen (het Rijk van Nijmegen). they give information on health, give out vaccines and check the growth of children and whether they grow up healthy.

GGD Gelderland-ZuidYou can encounter GGD employees at the AZC or at integration classes. For example, at the classes about the certificate of participation. Or at the ‘consultatiebureau’ that you visit if you have smaller children.
